The series has run since it inception at St Andrews in 1981, with a conference every four years. For more details on the history see

Other information:
The series aims to cover all aspects of group theory. Usually the conference consists of some invited lecture courses by the main speakers, and short talks by participants. The former are intended to be accessible to postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers in all areas of group theory.
